Babyliss Hooded Dryer Review | Professional Hair Service in the Comfort of Your Home

Last Updated on

Whether you own your own salon or you change your hair up a lot, you may know that drying your hair can be a pain! If only our hair would dry as fast as duo lash adhesive does on false lashes!

Since that isn’t the case, not only do you get a sore arm (or two) from using a hand held hair dryer, it can be incredibly time consuming. I wanted to share with you my Babyliss hooded dryer review to give you an alternative option.

I don’t know about you, but I’d much rather want to use a product that I can sit under and catch up on my emails, or do a bit of online shopping all while my hair is drying. If you do own a salon, your customers will love this hair dryer, so let me tell you a bit more about it!

Ready to go professional for your own hair and salon?

In the same way that duo lash glue is the best glue for eyelashes, there are also products that are just as loved when it comes to drying your hair.

The Babyliss Pro Ionic Hard-Hat Dryer was made to improve the overall salon experience for your clients.

It is powered by 2000 watts from the brushless AC motor. When something has a brushless motor it’s generally much quieter, without sacrificing any drying time.

If you want to improve the way your salon looks and the products you use on your clients, it’s important to have high quality hard-hat dryers.

Why you might need Babyliss Hooded Dryer?

While you can read all about the best hooded dryers here, we’re going to talk a bit more about the Babyliss hooded dryer. One of the biggest benefits of using this dryer is that it has MP3 capability. This means your clients can listen to their favorite music or podcast while their hair dries.

It’s also plenty adjustable, which can come in handy if you have clients of all different shapes and sizes. I don’t know about you, but the last thing you want is a customer that’s in a rush. Thankfully this dryer has two different speeds and three different temperatures so their hair will be dry in no time!

While the Babyliss Pro is amazing, we have to give credit where credit is due and mention a couple outstanding salon dryers that our team has put to the test that have really stood out. First off, easily one of the best salon dryers I’ve ever used is the Laila Ali ladr5603 Salon Ionic Dryer. What makes this particular dryer stand out is the fact that it’s collapsible and portable. In addition, it conditions the hair using ions while it dries!

Another great thing my clients loved about this hooded dryer is that it comes on wheels. This means they can move around a bit while their hair dries. Basically, if you have a salon and you want to please your customers by using one of the best hooded dryers on the market, consider purchasing the Babyliss hooded dryer or the Laila Ali ladr5603 Salon Ionic Dryer.

The perfect heating temperature

If you’re like me, you know how important it is to use the proper heating temperature when it comes to drying your hair. Many people, including clients, don’t know that the perfect heating temperature for your hair differs from person to person.

For starters, you never want to start off by blasting your hair with extreme heat. You want to change the levels of heat throughout the process. This all has to do with the hair’s texture and condition. If you have a client with straight hair, it is going to require different heating than a client with curly hair.

When you have someone in your chair that has thick or coarse hair, you’ll want to use higher heat. This helps to remove excess moisture when the hair is really wet. This means that their hair will dry quicker. It’s important to note that the dryer should be kept moving and never focus on one section of hair for too long, unless you’re using a hooded dryer.

Start off with your hooded dryer on a lower setting for clients with thin or fragile hair. You can also do this if their hair is damp and not fully wet. This ensures that there isn’t any over drying and that their scalp isn’t affected by using too much heat.

When your client’s hair is nearly dry, set the hooded dryer to the coolest setting to reduce the chance of any frizz. Now if only we could achieve something so easy by using duo glue for our lashes!

We also want to give an honorable mention to the Gold 'n Hot Elite 1875-Watt Professional Stand Bonnet Dryer. This is a great option if you’re looking for high quality and you’re on a bit of a budget!

Babyliss Hooded Dryer versatility

This is quite the versatile hooded dryer. You’ve already read that customers love that it has wheels so they can move around, but what if you want it set in place? There is a heavy duty anchor bolt that can be used to keep the dryer from moving around.

Again, the height is adjustable, which is perfect when you have customers that range from children, to tall models and men. The bonnet also has a visor that lifts up which just provides an extra bit of comfort.

This unit has two speeds and three different temperatures. You just read about how important being able to change the temperature is, so the fact that this dryer gives you several options is a major plus for me.

Materials and design

When it comes to the design of this hair dryer, I love that it has a built-in and adjustable airflow diffuser. This helps not only dry the hair, but reduces frizz and harm to the scalp. There wheels provided snap on which prevents hair from clogging the surface of the machine.

Speaking of wheels, the lock if you want the dryer to stay in place while it’s in use. This hooded dryer is designed to make your clients hair softer in less time, while reduces frizz and giving the hair a natural shine.

It weighs just 16 pounds and is made out of heavy duty materials that help the machine last as long as possible! One thing that is sure to impress your clients is the ability for them to plug in their smartphone or MP3 player and listen to music with the built-in speakers.

Often times people like to take calls while their hair is drying, thankfully this dryer is much quieter compared to other models, making it perfect for people to catch up with friends and family. They can also use this time to apply their make-up or put on some falsies using duo brush on adhesive.

Adjustability & Portability

Whether you work in a public salon, or you run one out of your home, one of the best things about this dryer is how portable it is. Since it weighs less than 20 pounds, it’s easy for most people to carry it.

With the adjustable bonnet level, you’ll be able to make this hooded dryer small enough to easily fit in the backseat of your car if you need to take it to a location for an event. It’s easy to clean and is rust proof throughout the entire inside and outside of the dryer.

I developed a love for the outdoors, particularly enjoying gloomy days spent in the forests. Almost every Sunday, my dad would drive my mom, myself, and my older sister to go hiking for family time and escaping the "city" life. Because of this, you'll find me writing a lot about various health topics. Whenever I get the opportunity I also love to write about make-up, skin, and hair! I've been obsessed with it ever since middle school so be sure to check out these topics that I write about as well.
